Worldbex gears up for 2012

Worldbex 2012

As Worldbex capped off 2011 with the highly successful World Bazaar Festival - with over 700 booths and hitting a record high of more than 200,000 attendees - the event turned out to be an overwhelming success for the country’s top expo group. Supported by ABS CBN, Worldbex Services International (WSI) is the leading exhibition and event organizer in the Philippines.

This year, the group is back with their biggest event, the World Building and Construction Exposition 2012 (WORLDBEX). This trade show is hailed annually as Asia’s largest and most awaited construction event. It is scheduled to open its doors for exhibitors, professionals, traders, importers, exporters, associations, buyers and enthusiasts from March 14 to 18, 2012 at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, the WTCMM East Wing, and the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC).

This year’s theme, “Building the Future,” aims to highlight the importance of the construction industry’s role in terms of the country’s economic growth. In line with this, a vital part of this year’s trade show is the WORLDBEX seminar series. The seminars will take place from March 15 to 17, 2012 at the PTTC. Twelve prestigious local and foreign speakers will tackle a wide range of topics concerning entrepreneurial architecture, leadership and management, urban planning, furniture design, and advocacies in the fields of architecture and construction.

Various exhibits will be on display during WORLDBEX 2012. Among these include the Furniture Gallery, which will showcase the intricate works of movable art in the form of classical and modern furniture designs; The Architects’ and Interior Designers’ Gallery which will house works and concepts by the country’s top-notch architects and high-calibre interior designers whose works have been recognized not only in the Asia Pacific region, but around the world as well.

WORLDBEX 2012, in partnership with Wilcon Depot and the Council of Interior Design Educators, also aims to support the up and coming talents through Obra Maestra: Disenio Ecologico, a competition where the most promising interior design students in the country showcase their works in the PTTC. The designs of these students will battle it out while working around the theme “Sanctuary: A Place of Refuge,” which features the idea that every part of the home can be transformed into a refuge and can serve as spaces that heal the mind, heart, and body in order to uplift the spirit.

With the world facing numerous environmental concerns, this year’s WORLDBEX definitely takes the expo to a higher notch as the show incorporates economic and environmental sustainability as core concepts for the industry’s future, showing the company’s commitment to the constant growth and development of the construction business in the long run.
